Emily Fox signs on for longer at Arsenal

Arsenal have announced a new contract for Emily Fox, the United States right-back who has been first choice on that side of the defence since the start of 2024.

Three trophies in two and a half years

Fox joined from North Carolina Courage in January 2024 and has made 93 appearances for the club, scoring three goals.

She took barely two months to win something. The club lifted the League Cup with Fox already settled at right-back, and she returned for the 2024/25 season with an Olympic gold medal from Paris. That campaign ended with the club crowned European champions for the second time in May 2025.

A third trophy followed in 2025/26, when Arsenal became the inaugural winners of the FIFA Women’s Champions Cup, beating Corinthians 3-2 in the final at Emirates Stadium. Fox provided the assist for Lotte Wubben-Moy’s goal, the second of that night.

In her own words

“This has felt like home since the moment I joined,” Fox said in the club’s announcement, adding that she was grateful to carry on representing the club and competing for titles.

The international record

Born in Virginia, Fox has made 78 appearances for the United States since her senior debut in 2018, and the honours she has won with them include the CONCACAF Gold Cup and that Olympic gold.

The individual recognition has kept pace. She was named in the PFA Women’s Super League team of the year in both of her full seasons at the club, and was nominated for the Ballon d’Or in 2025.
