Hong Kong, China opened their FIFA ASEAN Cup with a 4-0 win over Laos at Kai Tak Stadium on 27 September, a Division 2 group-stage match that kicked off at 15:00 Malaysian time.

Laos after a winning start

Laos came to Kai Tak Stadium as the winners of the tournament’s opening match, a 3-1 result against Brunei at Mong Kok Stadium on 24 September. Two matches into the group stage, they now have one win and one defeat.

The same scoreline was put on them in the middle of the year: Harimau Malaya beat Laos 4-0 in the ASEAN Championship group stage on 28 July, at Kuala Lumpur Stadium in Cheras.

A first match and a first win

For the hosts this was both, and they have yet to concede in the competition.

Where the group goes next

Brunei meet Hong Kong, China at Kai Tak Stadium on 30 September, kicking off at 20:00 Malaysian time.
