Johor Darul Ta’zim published two academy results on the evening of 23 September, one from the Piala Presiden and one from a youth league across the causeway.
Two before the interval in the Piala Presiden
The club’s third team beat Kedah FA 2-0 in the Piala Presiden, with Izzuddin Afif scoring on 29 minutes and Daniesh Amirruddin adding the second on 42 minutes.
Both goals arrived inside the first half, and the club named no other scorer.
Four without reply in Singapore
The club’s under-thirteen side won 4-0 away to LCS FA in the Singapore Premier Youth League. No scorers were given for that one.
Both scorelines are from the club’s own post.
The first team the academy feeds
The senior side has won all five of its Malaysia Super League matches so far this season, with 25 goals scored and none conceded. That is 15 points from five, and first place in a table of 12 clubs.
There has been cup and continental football alongside it. Johor Darul Ta’zim won 7-2 away at Penang FC in the Malaysia FA Cup quarter-final on 20 September, and drew 1-1 at home with Buriram United in the AFC Champions League on 15 September.
Where the youth calendar goes next
FAM has already set the next dates in the Piala Presiden and the Piala Belia.
Academy scorelines rarely travel far beyond the club that posts them. They are, though, most of what is publicly recorded about how a club’s youngest sides are doing, and on this evidence the third team and the younger side both had a good day.
