Johor Darul Ta’zim have two home matches on consecutive nights at the start of October, the club set out in a post on 22 September: “We’ve got two matches at Sultan Ibrahim Stadium coming up”.
The continental night
Svay Rieng are the visitors on 8 October, in the ASEAN Club Championship. The two clubs have met once, a 2-2 draw at Svay Rieng Stadium on 4 December 2025, so neither has yet beaten the other.
The cup return
Penang FC come the following night, on 9 October, for the Malaysia FA Cup quarter-final second leg, kicking off at 20:15 at Sultan Ibrahim Stadium.
Johor Darul Ta’zim won the first leg 7-2 at City Stadium in George Town on 20 September, so they take a five-goal lead into the return.
The rest of the month
Johor Darul Ta’zim drew 1-1 at home with Buriram United in the AFC Champions League on 15 September, and go to Pohang Steelers on 13 October, four days after the Penang FC tie. A home match against Port FC follows on 27 October.
Where the season stands
Johor Darul Ta’zim lead the Malaysia Super League with 15 points from five matches, 25 goals scored and none conceded. Two home dates in two nights is unusual scheduling in any season, and in this one it lands in the middle of a month that also takes the club away to Pohang Steelers.
