MFL says Kuching City FC, second in the Malaysia Super League on 12 points, are using a friendly against Sabah FC to keep their momentum going through the break.

MFL said on 30 September that Kuching City FC will treat the next day’s friendly against Sabah FC as a chance to keep their momentum going, and that the break is no reason to ease off.
There is form behind that. Kuching City FC are second in the Malaysia Super League with 12 points from five matches, three behind the leaders, having won four and lost one while scoring 15 and conceding four. Sabah FC are fourth on 6 points from four matches, with two wins and two defeats, six scored and five conceded.
The two have met three times and Kuching City FC have won all three. They last played on 5 September at Likas Stadium, where Kuching City FC won 2-0.
The friendly sits in the middle of a busy autumn. Kuching City FC drew 0-0 away to Kelantan City FC in the Malaysia FA Cup quarter-final on 20 September, and the two meet again at Taha Ariffin Stadium in Kuching on 10 October, kicking off at 7.45pm. The same ground hosts Kitchee in the AFC Champions League Two on 15 October.
Sabah FC are back in the Malaysia Super League at Tuanku Abdul Rahman Stadium in Seremban against Negeri Sembilan FC on 17 October, and Kuching City FC play DPMM FC in Bandar Seri Begawan the day after that.
