Negeri Sembilan FC said 7,500 face masks would be handed out free to supporters at the home match against Sabah FC at Tuanku Abdul Rahman Stadium, Paroi, on 17 October.
The masks were a gift from two local community bodies, JPKK Kg Batu 4, Jalan Jelebu and KRT Taman Paroi Jaya A, which gave 150 boxes, the club said in a post on X. Safirul Izmee, secretary of JPKK Kg Batu 4, and Fiqri Firdaus, chairman of KRT Taman Paroi Jaya A, handed over the donation. The club also noted that the stadium sits inside the Taman Paroi Jaya neighbourhood of Seremban.
The club linked the gift to the haze around Seremban, saying it showed a strong family spirit in looking after its supporters. An earlier post on the same day told fans to bring raincoats and not to forget their masks.
The Malaysia Super League Matchday 5 fixture was scheduled to kick off at 5pm. Negeri Sembilan FC went into it ninth in the table with 4 points from 4 matches, 11 points behind the leaders. Sabah FC were fourth with 6 points from 4 matches.
After that, Negeri Sembilan FC travel to DPMM FC on 30 October, at Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium in Bandar Seri Begawan, kicking off at 4pm Malaysian time.
