Melaka FC coach E. Elavarasan said his players deserved the 3-2 win over Kuala Lumpur City on Saturday, which followed three defeats, in remarks published by MFL.

According to MFL, the result lifted Melaka FC from 10th place to sixth in the Malaysia Super League. Elavarasan said the win showed the team were growing more at ease with one another in their play as they keep chasing points.

He told MFL the win mattered for lifting the players’ spirit and confidence again after what he called a fairly difficult period, and that the team needed the three points. He also asked his side to stay focused.

The same MFL piece opened with DPMM FC, whose coach Jamie McAllister praised the character his players showed in the 3-2 comeback against Kuching City FC.

Elavarasan said Melaka FC play their following match away from home, and that the team would be better prepared this time.
