A calf injury has ruled Faisal Halim out of the third-place play-off for Harimau Malaya at the FIFA ASEAN Cup, according to Malay Mail on 2 October.
The match is against Vietnam at Gelora Bung Karno Stadium in Jakarta on 5 October, kicking off at 5pm Malaysian time. Vietnam reached it by beating Pakistan 4-2 on 2 October.
Faisal was one of five Selangor FC players the club listed as ready to represent the national team in the third Group A match, in a post on 1 October. Harimau Malaya won that match 6-0 against Singapore in Bandung, the six-goal win that still left them short of the final.
The group ended with Harimau Malaya and Indonesia level on seven points and a +9 goal difference, and Indonesia went through on goals scored, according to FIFA. The Malaysian side beat Bangladesh 3-0 and drew 0-0 with Indonesia before the win in Bandung, so they finished the group with two wins, a draw and no goals conceded.
Thailand and Indonesia meet in the final at the same stadium later on 5 October, kicking off at 9pm Malaysian time.
