The match settled the FIFA ASEAN Cup Group A place in the final. Farhaan Ali Wahid’s goal at 90+1’ made it 7-2, leaving Indonesia needing two more goals. Kevin Diks scored at 90+6’ and Mitchell Baker at 90+7’.
FIFA’s report on Arif Aiman’s post-match comments says both sides finished the group on seven points with a goal difference of +9, and Indonesia went through because they had scored more goals. As Group A runners-up, Harimau Malaya go into the third-place play-off against an opponent from Group B.
Harimau Malaya beat Singapore 6-0 in Bandung on the same night.
The final, Indonesia against Thailand, is at Gelora Bung Karno Stadium on 5 October, kicking off at 9pm Malaysian time.
