Harimau Malaya will play China on 14 November and Yemen on 17 November in Guangzhou, FAM said in a media release on 13 October, after the Chinese Football Association (CFA) changed the schedule.
FAM said it received the update from the CFA that day, and described both as Tier 1 matches. Under the new schedule, the match against China is on Saturday 14 November and the meeting with Yemen on Tuesday 17 November.
The two dates are unchanged. On 30 September, the ASEAN Football Federation’s website said the two matches in Guangzhou on 14 and 17 November would both be against China, as announced by the newly elected FAM president, Dato’ Ab Ghani Hassan.
FAM said the matches are part of the team’s preparation, to gain competitive exposure at international level, and that any further update from the CFA will be passed on as it comes.
Harimau Malaya finished third at the FIFA ASEAN Cup, beating Vietnam 1-0 in the bronze final at Gelora Bung Karno Stadium in Jakarta on 5 October.
The match against China in Guangzhou on Saturday 14 November is the first of the two.
