FAM added the Grandstand category to its ticket sales for the AFC U-17 Women’s Asian Cup 2027 qualifiers on 27 September, a little over a week before the Malayan Tigress B-17 open the campaign at Stadium MP Selayang. The association’s own notice puts the Grandstand seats on sale in addition to the categories already available.
Three matches in Selangor
The qualifiers put Malaysia in Group E, and all three of its matches are at Stadium MP Selayang. The B-17 side start against Syria on 5 October, play Iraq on 8 October and finish against India on 11 October, each match kicking off at 9.00pm.
That is the whole campaign in a week: three matches, one ground, and no second leg to come back from.
What the group is worth
Only the group winners go to the AFC U-17 Women’s Asian Cup 2027 in China. Four sides are already through — the defending champions North Korea, Japan, Australia and the hosts — and the finals run from 31 March to 17 April 2027.
The side that will play
Takayoshi Ishihara, the new head coach, called 25 players into a centralised camp that began on 15 September.
He has two Japanese coaches with him: Mizuki Ito as assistant head coach and goalkeeping coach, and Mayu Hinada as fitness coach.
Elsewhere for the national sides
The senior Harimau Malaya side are in Jakarta this week, and meet Indonesia at Gelora Bung Karno Stadium on 28 September, kicking off at 20:30 Malaysian time.
