Johor Darul Ta’zim won for the first time in this season’s AFC Champions League, beating Pohang Steelers 2-0 at Pohang Steel Yard on 13 October.

The AFC’s match report says the hosts were down to ten men. The first half finished goalless. Marcos Guilherme broke through in the 49th minute from Shahab Zahedi’s pass, and scored again in the 89th minute.

Arif Aiman captained the side, according to the club’s team sheet, with Shahab Zahedi and Óscar Arribas also among the starters.

The win follows a 1-1 draw with Buriram United at Sultan Ibrahim Stadium on 15 September in their opening league-stage match. That leaves Johor Darul Ta’zim with one win and one draw from two games in the competition.

At home, they top the Malaysia Super League table with 15 points from five matches, having scored 25 goals and conceded none.

They visit Terengganu FC at Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin Stadium, Kuala Nerus, in the league on 18 October, kicking off at 9pm. Their third league-stage match in the AFC Champions League is at home to Port FC at Sultan Ibrahim Stadium on 27 October, kicking off at 6pm.
