Selangor FC say seven thousand and ninety-two supporters were at MBPJ Stadium on 23 October for the first leg of the Malaysia FA Cup semi-final against Kuching City FC, in a post on the club’s X account on 24 October. The club used the same post to thank those in the stands.
They saw Selangor FC beat Kuching City FC 2-1. R. Saifullah gave the visitors the lead in the ninth minute, before E. Sosa scored in the 19th minute and again in the 58th minute. It leaves the hosts one goal ahead going into the second leg.
The two clubs met at the same stage of the Malaysia Cup in April 2026. That semi-final finished 1-1 at MBPJ Stadium on 5 April, and Kuching City FC won the second leg 1-0 at home on 18 April to go through to the final.
In the Malaysia Super League, Selangor FC have won all five of their matches and are second on 15 points, three behind the leaders. They are back at MBPJ Stadium on 1 November, when they host Star City FC in the league.
The second leg of the semi-final is at Taha Ariffin Stadium, Kuching, on 8 November, kicking off at 7.45pm.
