Harimau Malaya meet Indonesia at Gelora Bung Karno Stadium in Jakarta this evening. FAM marked the fixture on its own account on 28 September.

The FIFA ASEAN Cup group match kicks off at 8.30pm Malaysian time. It is a Division 1 group-stage tie: the tournament runs two divisions, and Harimau Malaya are in the first of them. It is also the same ground where they beat Bangladesh 3-0 on 25 September to open the tournament.

The other Division 1 game in Jakarta today

Singapore and Bangladesh were the earlier fixture at Gelora Bung Karno Stadium, kicking off at 5pm. Both are Division 1 sides, so the four of them are working through the same section of the draw in the same week.

Bandung on 1 October

After tonight, Harimau Malaya move on to Si Jalak Harupat Stadium in Bandung, where they play Singapore on 1 October, again at 8.30pm. That is a different city and a different ground from the two Jakarta dates, and it closes their group programme.

The build-up

Harimau Malaya come in off the 3-0 win over Bangladesh; Thom Haye spoke for the Indonesia side, and Bergson and Dion Cools turned to Jakarta.

FAM’s own post adds nothing to those. It is a matchday post carrying the two flags and a link, which is what a federation posts before a game rather than a statement about it.
