Johor Darul Ta’zim have opened a content platform of their own. The club announced JDT+ on 22 September, called it “premium content for the fans”, and said a production named Untamed premieres on 22 October.
What the club actually said
The announcement is brief. “JDT+ is here”, it opens, before naming Untamed and its date. It puts no price on the platform, names no subscription, and lists nothing else that will sit alongside Untamed.
The club it arrives at
Johor Darul Ta’zim lead the Malaysia Super League with 15 points from five matches, 25 goals scored and none conceded, at the top of a table of 12.
September has been busy on the pitch too. They drew 1-1 at home with Buriram United in the AFC Champions League on 15 September, then won 7-2 at Penang FC in the Malaysia FA Cup quarter-final on 20 September.
October, then
The return against Penang FC is at Sultan Ibrahim Stadium on 9 October at 8.15pm, and Pohang Steelers are the hosts four days after that in the AFC Champions League. Our piece on the club’s October home nights has the rest of the calendar.
Untamed lands at the end of that stretch, on 22 October. A club playing continental, cup and league football inside one month is not short of raw material for it, whatever form the thing turns out to take.
