Johor Darul Ta’zim have published the full-time score of an international friendly played by their second team, and it is a defeat: 1-0 to Singapore’s U22 national side.
What the club posted, and what it left out
The post, made on 28 September, carried the scoreline and the two sides’ names. It named no scorer, gave no venue and no kickoff time, and did not say on which day the match was played.
The senior side’s month
The first team has won all five of its Malaysia Super League matches so far, scoring 25 goals and conceding none. That is 15 points from five games, and first place in a table of 12 clubs.
There has been cup and continental football alongside the league. Johor Darul Ta’zim won 7-2 away at Penang FC in the Malaysia FA Cup quarter-final on 20 September, and drew 1-1 at home with Buriram United in the AFC Champions League on 15 September.
Two dates in October
The quarter-final’s return leg is at home to Penang FC on 9 October, kicking off at 5pm. Four days after that the first team travels to Pohang Steelers for its second AFC Champions League league-stage match.
A club that posts its youth results
Reserve and academy scorelines rarely travel beyond the account that posts them. This club posts them anyway: the two academy wins it published last week, one in the Piala Presiden and one in the Singapore Premier Youth League, and the third team’s place at the top of the Piala Presiden.
A 1-0 against a national under-age side is a small item beside a first team that has not conceded a league goal this season.
