Johor Darul Ta’zim line up two home matches at Sultan Ibrahim Stadium on 8 and 9 October

Johor Darul Ta’zim have two home matches on consecutive days in October, and the club set both of them out on its own site on 28 September.

The first is an ASEAN Club Championship group match against Svay Rieng, at Sultan Ibrahim Stadium in Iskandar Puteri on 8 October, kicking off at 8pm. The Malaysia FA Cup quarter-final against Penang FC follows at the same ground the next afternoon, 9 October, at 5pm. The club’s post calls the later of the two the second leg of the tie, and points supporters to a ticket page for each date.

A tie already half played

Johor Darul Ta’zim won the first leg 7-2 at City Stadium in George Town on 20 September. Bergson opened the scoring on 16 minutes, Marcos Guilherme struck on 54 minutes and Stoichkov on 63 minutes; Penang FC answered through E. Celestine just after the interval, and K. Naskam scored deep into stoppage time.

That is the position the two sides come back to in Iskandar Puteri. It is a quarter-final rather than a group game, so the tie is settled on the night.

The visitors on the first date

Svay Rieng arrive at the start of an ASEAN Club Championship group stage widened for this edition. The two clubs have met once before in the competition, a 2-2 draw on 4 December 2025. The Cambodian club’s visit is the earlier of the two October dates, and the only one of them that belongs to a continental campaign rather than a domestic cup.

Two dates, one ground

Both are at Sultan Ibrahim Stadium, where Johor Darul Ta’zim have built a league start without a goal conceded. A continental group match and a domestic cup quarter-final at the same ground, a day apart, is the unusual part of the club’s note — and the second of them is an afternoon kickoff rather than a night one.
