Selangor FC had five players with Harimau Malaya against Indonesia

Selangor FC said on 28 September that five of their players were in the Harimau Malaya squad for the second Group A fixture of the FIFA ASEAN Cup, against Indonesia in Jakarta.

The club’s message that day listed five players: Faisal Halim, Quentin Cheng, Nooa Laine, Harith Haiqal and Syahir Bashah.

Group A so far

Harimau Malaya began the Division 1 group stage on 25 September with a 3-0 win over Bangladesh, also at Gelora Bung Karno Stadium in Jakarta.

Their three group fixtures are against Bangladesh, Indonesia and Singapore. The last of them comes on 1 October at Si Jalak Harupat Stadium in Bandung, and kickoff there is 8.30pm Malaysian time.

The club side of it

Domestically, Selangor FC sit third in the Malaysia Super League on 12 points from four matches, all of them won, and three points behind the leader of a 12-team table. They have scored 13 and conceded 3.

Their last league outing was a 3-0 win over Kuala Lumpur City at MBPJ Stadium on 13 September, on Matchday 4.

Club football resumes for them on 11 October, when Star City FC visit MBPJ Stadium in the Malaysia FA Cup quarter-final. The sides’ earlier quarter-final meeting, on 19 September, finished 4-1 to Selangor FC at Tuanku Syed Putra Stadium.
